Better voltage quality and more capacity in weak distribution grids

eqGrid helps grid operators increase available capacity, improve voltage quality and reduce the need for grid reinforcement in weak distribution grids.

This product page describes electrical characteristics, battery system, communication interfaces, operating modes and technical integration.

Illustration of eqGrid as a resilience system, standalone or within a coordinated system
eqGrid supports resilience — standalone for critical loads, or where a higher-level system controls many units.

Electrical characteristics

Limits towards grid and load.

The system supports up to 80 A three-phase TN on the connection from the grid and towards the load.

AC connections

ParameterValue
Grid-side connectionUp to 80 A three-phase TN
Load-side connectionUp to 80 A three-phase TN
Supported topologiesTN, IT and TT
Frequency50 or 60 Hz
Single-phase supportYes
Three-phase supportYes

Important limitation

If several eqGrid units are connected to the same supply, the loads MUST be separate for each eqGrid unit. Multiple eqGrid units must not be connected in parallel onto a common downstream load without written approval following engineering design from eqGrid AS.

This requirement is a precondition for the system and its protection to function correctly.

Voltage stabilisation

ParameterValue
Voltage level changeno-break (uninterrupted)
Standard voltage levels ±5%
Custom voltage levelsAvailable on request
Voltage adjustmentPatented voltage selector
T1 ensures eqGrid always has an internal TN system regardless of the topology at the site, and supports TN, IT and TT grids. When needed, T2 is used to restore the original grid topology.
Illustration of eqGrid: T1 transformer with voltage selector, battery system and T2 transformer to recreate the topology.
